Hemp Fashions
Caprice Inc. is a hemp based business
that is growing like a weed.
The company began as a small woman’s hemp
clothing company based in Sudbury but is now offering an expanded range
of hemp based products across Ontario.
“We promote
products that emphasize a healthy lifestyle and environment, ”said
Sherril Benoit, President of the company.
“Having spent a few years in the sales
industry, mainly in women’s clothing, I’ve become very familiar with the
needs and wants of many women,” said Benoit.
Most women seek a unique classic line of
comfortable clothing, produced with quality material, manufactured in
Canada but sold at a reasonable price according to Benoit.
“Thus was Caprice born as my garments are
produced from hemp blends that result in the most durable and
environmentally friendly product possible as an alternative to cotton.”
Cotton is notorious for requiring heavy
pesticide and herbicide use and is rough on agricultural soils. Hemp
grows like a weed without needing environmentally destructive chemicals.
Caprice has expanded their product line,
venturing into home basics like soaps and candles. She also is
manufacturing shower curtains, bath towels, hand towels, face cloths and
soon to come, bath mats, all from hemp.
