Rhythm |
Latin - Any
music can be used including vocal music. Skaters may use any of the
following types of music from the Latin family:
Cha Cha
Mambo
Samba

Music |
4/4, 2/2 or
cut time. If the Samba is chosen, 2/4 time of 2 beats per measure
may be used.

Pattern |
full
circuit of ice or two half patterns for each of the two required
sequences.
reverse direction, loops, retrogression not permitted.

Steps |
All
steps, turns permitted including small hops and jumps reflecting the
characteristics of the music
Toe steps not permitted.
At least one skate of each partner must remain on the ice at all
times except as allowed (see notes in Pre-Event Technical Package on
Members Only).

Lifts |
One lift in
either the opening or closing permitted.

Stops |
May include
one stop per sequence. Each stop not to exceed 5 seconds.

| Spins |
One spin in either the
opening or closing permitted.
|
|
Separations |
Separations
for a twizzle or twizzle series are permitted. There is no hold
requirement following a twizzle.

Notes |
A rhythm
dance shall be a simple dance with emphasis on the strength
of edges and flow rather than on the technical difficulty
of the steps. |
