Northern Ontario

The government of Ontario will increase winter road maintenance in northern Ontario dramatically. A high level provincial government employee will head up to Hearst to look into public information sessions promoting sidewalks along the Trans Canada Highway. Due to cut backs on our snow clearing budgets, they will spend a long cold miserable night stuck on the highway. The funds originally designated for this project will be immediately transferred to our winter road maintenance program and no one will ever learn of the "Side Walk our Highways" scheme.
 

National

Smokers across Canada will attempt to bring a class action lawsuit to ban drinking in public places as it represents a greater danger to society than smoking. They will not succeed due to government pressure.
