Gerson Therapy
Hi folks! When last we met in cyberspace I gave you a thumbnail
sketch for basic nutrition and backed it up with verses from the
Bible, specifically Genesis 1:29 which discussed the vegetarian diet
that was originally designed for us as well as the harmony of the
whole planet, and then Leviticus chapter 11 which gave us the clean
meat laws after our environment changed.
My point was that if we simply eat what we were originally designed
to eat, our bodies would last a lot longer and we would have more
health energy in our lives. Sounds logical, doesn’t it?
Well, Dr. Max Gerson thought so too.
Dr. Max Gerson was born in Germany in 1881. He cured himself of
migraine headaches using nutrition. While passing this information
onto patients, he realized that skin tuberculosis and cancer were
being healed as well as their migraines.
Dr. Gerson immigrated to the United States prior to World War II.
For twenty years he treated hundreds of cancer patients who had been
given up for dead after conventional treatments had failed. He was
able to bring many back to 100% health and published his findings in
his book entitled, “A Cancer Therapy: Results of 50 Cases”.
In the 1940’s and 1950’s, after 30 years of clinical
experimentation, Dr. Gerson arrived at four main conclusions:
1) Diet has a considerable effect on almost all diseases
2) The human body can heal itself given the appropriate nutrients
3) Any effective treatment for degenerative disease must treat the
whole person
4) People with serious illnesses must help their body detoxify.
If you’re wondering why you haven’t heard much about Dr. Gerson
before, please remember that up to Max Gerson’s death in 1959 most
cancers were considered incurable by orthodox medicine, and the
American Medical Association and American Cancer Society both flatly
rejected the idea that diet could have any effect on the prevention
or treatment of cancer. If it were not for his daughter, Charlotte
Gerson, who founded the Gerson Institute which kept his research and
treatment protocol alive, we would not have access to either the
information nor his treatment today.
So what does all of this have to do with our nutritional blueprint
in the Bible? EVERYTHING!
Dr. Gerson’s nutritional regimen is based on a totally organic
vegetarian diet of 13 fresh juices per day, raw and cooked fruits
and vegetables, oatmeal, baked potatoes, Hippocrates soup, non-fat
yogurt, and a small amount of scaled, finned non-oily fish for those
who were especially deficient and required a little more that just
vegetable and grain protein. The treatment protocol also required
patients to detoxify using 5 organic coffee enemas per day, and to
take supplements to regulate the biochemical functions of sodium and
potassium, speed of metabolism via thyroid function, and essential
fatty acid status of the tissues.
The interesting thing is that Gerson Therapy does not include the
drinking of water or the eating of meat protein, and surprisingly
enough, neither does Genesis 1:29 – and that’s because when our soil
is healthy and our fruits and vegetables are juicy and full of
distilled water and protein, neither water nor meat is required.
How do I know all this? Well, it’s because I have just returned from
studying Gerson Therapy for the treatment of chronic disease and
cancer through the Gerson Institute in San Diego, California. In the
next installment of LOGICAL MEDICINE, I will share with you my
excitement and knowledge during the intensive week I spent with 10
other doctors and health care practitioners from all over the world
who, like me, want to cure cancer with high success rates using a
logical approach and nutrition as a base.
So stay tuned and I’ll see you soon!
