Sudbury Ontario! What a city. If you find yourself quickly driving through Sudbury you're likely to wonder why anyone would ever want to live here. If you stay a day, or a few weeks, you may find it hard to ever live anywhere else.

Sudbury Ontario is that old classic enigma wrapped in a mystery and surrounded by a puzzle. A traditional blue collar northern mining town that still would really like to be able to roll up theDowntown Sudbury Ontario sidewalks at dusk and keep people at home and in church on Sundays, yet finds itself filled with coffee shops, jazz and pubs, poets, artists, musicians, thriving out in the open gay, goth, and pagan communities and more volunteers ready to get involved with just about anything than any other community in this country. A city whose main roads can easily be called ugly and depressing, yet here you will find so many parks and flowers and trees and lakes within our limits that it amazes. (We have the provincial horticultural awards to prove it) Just turn off any main road and see what I mean.

Who are we here in Sudbury? I've heard us called a community with schizophrenic tendencies. We will tell you that mining rules all here, yet our number one employer is Education. We will tell you we're all about hunting and fishing and yet have many more tree huggers and vegetarians than hunters running around making noise about the environment and re-greening and conservation. We will use terms like "artsy fartsy" and yet find that our concentration of amazingly talented artist of all kinds is staggering!  Art organizations are tripping over themselves in the crowd, artists are everywhere, our musicians will transport you, and festivals happen to often and regular you may find yourself having to choose from two or three every weekend.

We are a city in transition. A city working hard to become something other than what it is perceived to be. A city of vision, style and SUV loads of class. A city with citizens willing to work long hard hours on their own time to make a better future for our population and Northern Ontario as a whole. In medicine, education, the arts, technology, cultural diversity, human rights, ecology and the environment we look for better ways and are willing to work for better days ahead. Can you tell I love it here?

Sudbury Ontario, come to shop, come to play, you may find you've come to stay!
