Biography

Lynne Reynolds
Candidate for Councillor
Ward 6

Born and educated in Sudbury, Lynne Reynolds has been involved in politics in various levels of government for over 30 years. Lynne is a fully bilingual Sudburian who likes to get things done. Her extensive political and business experience, as well as her proven record of accomplishments, qualify her as an ideal candidate for Councillor of Ward 6 in the upcoming municipal election in the City of Greater Sudbury.

Over the years, Lynne has been involved in many community initiatives and organizations, often called on for her marketing, promotion and advertising expertise. She has a special affinity for helping seniors, women and children.

Professionally, Lynne has been an award-winning manager in the broadcast industry, a real estate broker and owner of her own brokerage firm, as well as Special Political Assistant for Northern Ontario for a federal Cabinet Minister. On her return to Sudbury from Ottawa, she launched an event marketing business with her daughter called Community Connections, which is the producer of the highly-successful annual Women's Fair, the largest consumer show for women in Northern Ontario and one of the largest events in Sudbury. She is also the Executive Director of a community-driven initiative called Senior Friendly Sudbury whose goal is to sensitize the community to the needs and concerns of seniors and to create a senior-friendly city in the wake of the coming Age Wave.

In her spare time, Lynne loves to write and has written and produced a number of documentaries, television programs, radio programs and film scripts about Sudbury and Northern Ontario. Most recently, she produced and directed a two-hour television documentary on Sudbury's Regional Cancer Care Centre and has written a film script entitled "From Lunch bucket to Laptop: The Story of Sudbury." Her interest in Sudbury and its history began as a young woman when she co-wrote and produced a publication entitled "Everything You Wanted To Know About Sudbury...but didn't know where to ask."

Her strong sense of community, her extensive political and business experience and her talent for turning her considerable energy into action and results, speak plainly to her ability to be a strong voice for the citizens of Ward 6, and indeed for our whole community.

Lynne enjoys the support of her two grown daughters and two grandchildren, her extended family and many friends. She lives in New Sudbury.
