Those who wish to pet and baby wildlife
love them, but hose who respect their natures and wish to let them live
their natural lives, love them more."
- Edwin Way Teale
The main goal of Wild At Heart is to
return injured or orphaned animals to their natural habitat. In order to
do this, some animals need extensive medical attention, including
cleaning and suturing wounds, setting broken bones, and sometimes even
painstaking surgical procedures.
After immediate health concerns have been
addressed, the animal begins the long road to recovery. For orphaned
animals, round-the-clock care is often required, as feedings may be as
frequent as once every hour! The animals are kept warm, comfortable, and
well-fed until they are prepared to fend for themselves successfully.
All animals are released in a carefully
planned area, which is chosen to keep them healthy, and help them stay
out of trouble in the future.
